GRAFTON, Mass.- On Saturday, Oct. 13, a group of Grafton residents will walk to raise money for brain tumor research.
“Team Cosseboom" last year comprised 80 to 100 participants, who walked a 5k in Boston to raise money for the National Brain Tumor Society, a nonprofit organization that exists to find a cure and improve the quality of life for those affected by the disease.
“Team Cosseboom” is comprised of family, friends and neighbors who joined forces to support Lyn Cosseboom and her sons, Jack and Alec, after losing their husband and father, John, to brain cancer. Last year, the team wore Patriots shirts in memory of John, who was a super fan.
This year’s event, which will begin at 9 a.m., will start at the DCR Mother's Rest at Carson Beach, in Boston.
"We hope to raise more money this year than last,” said Kristen Menhall, a Grafton resident and brain tumor survivor.
Even though the event is coming soon, it’s not too late to donate. Visit the Team Cosseboom site for details.
