Carmel Honored As One Of State's Safest Places

PUTNAM COUNTY, N.Y. -- Carmel was honored as one of the state's safest places in ValuePenguin's yearly list, the latest of which was released recently.

Carmel was recently honored with a spot on ValuePenguin's safest cities in the state list.

The town ranked third on the website's Big Cities list, which ranked communities with more than 20,000 residents.

Carmel was one of 13 towns and villages in Westchester and Putnam counties to be placed on the list.
