Chappaqua Celebrates America Recycles Day

CHAPPAQUA, N.Y. - In honor of America Recycles Day on Tuesday, Douglas G. Grafflin Elementary School brought in Bart Carey, the town's recycling foreman, to present and field prepared questions from students.

"It's important to know about recycling," said Carey. For the entire week, students at the school will be having waste-free lunches. According to Carey, that means using bio-degradable products, such as water bottles.

The town will continue its recognition of recycling on Wednesday, when Jessica Haller, a member of Al Gore's Climate Reality Project, will speak at Town Hall at 7:30 p.m. Haller will be giving on presentation on climate change and will field questions from the public.
