Local Open Night Sponsored by Harrison Players

HARRISON, N.Y. – The Harrison Players are giving the microphone to the local youth next month when they host a community open-mic event downtown.

The "Open Mic: Young People's Edition" event is scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 21 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Veteran's Memorial Building at 210 Halstead Ave. Anyone under 18 years of age is invited to participate.

Acts could include but are not limited to singing, dancing, poetry reading, or musical instruments.

Admission is $5 and performers should arrive at 6:30 p.m. to sign up. Performers are limited to six-minute slots at most.

The Harrison Players are a community theater group established in 1963 by town residents. The group has provided musicals, fundraisers and community events for Harrison for more than 40 years.
