GRAFTON, Mass. ‒ Emily and Erin Crossin of Grafton won the children’s seed-growing contest held during the annual Grafton Garden Club Holiday Party.

Their prizes were a kids greenhouse and a family membership in the Grafton Garden Club.

At the Grafton Farmers Market earlier in the year, the club helped children turn empty water bottles into planters. The children then planted seeds, cared for the sprouts and sent photos of their growing plants to the club.

During the holiday party, held Dec. 9 at the Willard House and Clock Museum, club members, their guests and prize winners enjoyed a tour of the museum, refreshments, door prizes and a Yankee gift swap.

The Grafton Garden Club is a non-profit organization with members from many area towns. It provides scholarships and grants to area schools for the educational pursuit of horticulture. The club considers itself a place where gardeners grow.
