GRAFTON, Mass. -- It will be another busy Thanksgiving for the Grafton Food Bank.
Organized by volunteer Maureen Clark, who also is the town clerk, this year's holiday will include more than 100 baskets filled with traditional Thanksgiving items including boxed stuffing, canned vegetables, brownie mix and supermarket gift cards.
Contributions are being accepted until Monday.
"Any food donation in the spirit of Thanksgiving is welcome," said Donna Girouard, assistant town clerk who also is heavily involved in the drive. "But no refrigerated items, please."
In past years, local businesses, Boy Scout and Girl Scout troops, schools, and churches have pitched in for the food bank.
Clark has been involved with the charity since 1985 and has a background as a chairperson with the Salvation Army.
Food, gift card, and check donations are being accepted until Monday. Food donation drop off boxes are at the Municipal Center and Stop & Shop.
Volunteers also are needed. Call Maureen Clark or Donna Girouard at 508-839-5335, ext. 195 for more information.
