GRAFTON, Mass. —Go ahead, you can cross the Depot Street bridge. The construction job, originally scheduled to be finished by late November, was finished early Friday afternoon.
The road, sidewalk, and bridge wall are cleared for traffic and all the construction equipment, aside from a few orange cones are removed.
For residents who live in the area, and have been taking long detours to the post office or Fisher Park for almost two years, this is big news.
Two-way traffic was closed in March 2011, with access limited from the Ferry Street side of the bridge, when the Massachusetts Department of Transportation declared it structurally unsafe. The $95,000 project is now complete.
