- Mosquito Fears Create A Buzz In Grafton: The buzz was all about mosquitoes in late summer and early fall in 2012 as fears of Eastern equine encephalitis and West Nile virus had the area on high alert.
- Grafton Becomes Town Of Sports Champions: In 2012, Grafton became the town of champions -- the Grafton High School girls' softball team became state champs and the football team followed up by capturing Grafton's first Super Bowl trophy since 1986.
- Hurricane Sweeps In; Winter Strangely Absent: The weather was just weird in 2012. It started with a winter nearly devoid of snow and neared its end with a hurricane that threatened Halloween.
- Mill Villages Park Opens In Grafton: The Mill Villages Park made our list because it is an example of how Grafton took a suburban eyesore and created a green space that is a symbol of the area's revitalization.
- Grafton Stars In A Lifetime Movie: Hollywood came to Grafton in the summer of 2012 for the filming of a modern-day take on "Little Women."
- Sex Offender's Return Stuns Grafton: The most commented-upon story on The Grafton Daily Voice in 2012 was the release of Level 3 sex offender Brian Addeo, who landed on the state's most wanted list after cutting off his GPS monitor and fleeing the state in 2011.
- Grafton Says No To The Railroad: One of the hottest stories of 2012 is not only a late comer, but also might appear in the top 10 for 2013.
- A Year For Political Junkies: It was a busy year for Grafton politics. We had local and national elections, redistricting, board of selectmen re-election, and school committee runoffs. In short, for political junkies, it was a blast.
- 'New' Was Big In Grafton Schools: The doors opened to a new high school, which allowed the entire district to realign, allowing overburdened school buildings some breathing room. It also was the year of the iPad as an academic tool. It also was the first full year of a new schools superintendent.
- A Hard Year For Grafton Firefighters: It was a tough year for Grafton firefighters.
