GRAFTON, Mass. – Jean M. Peloquin Ploof formerly of South Grafton died Jan. 12. She was 76.
She was born Aug. 10, 1936 at the family home in Worcester to Edward J. and Irene L. Chevalier Peloquin. She lived in the same house for more than 60 years before moving to Grafton. She lived in Grafton for several years before returning to Worcester in 2011.
Ploof worked as a waitress at Dino’s Restaurant in Worcester for many years. She previously worked at the former Howard Johnson’s Restaurant in Shrewsbury. She was a member of Holy Family and St. Joseph Church.
She enjoyed bowling, quilting, sewing and going to casinos. After retiring, she became a member of “Dino’s Girls.” Her family said that she was like a mom to many.
Ploof is survived by a daughter, Susan K. (Robert) Hosker, of Grafton; two sons, David A. (Debbie) Ploof, of Loveland, Ohio, and Gordon K. (Sigrid Heinichen) Ploof, of Worcester; seven grandchildren; a great-grandson; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband of 51 years, Adelord J. "Bud" Ploof, three years ago on the date of her death.
Visitation is from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday Mercadante Funeral Home in Worcester. A procession will leave the funeral home at 9:40 a.m. Wednesday. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. at Holy Family St. Joseph Church. Burial will follow at Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton, Mass.
