Louis R. 'Lou' D'Angelo, 83, Of Grafton, Korea Veteran

GRAFTON, Mass. ‒ Louis R. "Lou" D'Angelo, of Grafton, died Feb. 26. He was 83.


D'Angelo was born May 23, 1929, in Watertown, son of Helen DeVincent and Rocco D'Angelo. He grew up in Watertown, graduating from Watertown High School and eventually earning his degree in engineering from Northeastern University. After he had enrolled at Northeastern, D'Angelo enlisted in the Navy and served during the Korean War. He finished his degree upon discharge from the Navy. He worked as an engineer at Raytheon for several years and then at Hanscomb Air Force Base.

D'Angelo is survived by his wife, Helene (LaSala); his children, Ronald D'Angelo (Michelle), Mark D'Angelo, Stephen D'Angelo, James D'Angelo (Anne), Terri D'Angelo and Susan (Lucian) Sappia; 13 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a brother, Robert (Gloria) D'Angelo; and several nieces and nephews.


Calling hours will be Wednesday, March 6, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Roney Funeral Home, 152 Worcester St., North Grafton. A Mass will be celebrated Thursday, March 7, at 11 a.m. at St. Mary's Church, 17 Waterville St., North Grafton. Burial with military honors will take place in Pine Grove Cemetery, Grafton.

In lieu of flowers, his family requests that memorial donations be made to the Massachusetts/New Hampshire Alzheimer's Association, 480 Pleasant St., Watertown, MA 02472, or at www.Alzmass.org.
