Obituary: Francis “Gary” Maynard, 80

GRAFTON, Mass./LAS VEGAS, Nev. - Francis “Gary” Maynard, 80, died August 23, 2012 in Nevada. His wife Dorothy F. (Baker) Parker Maynard died in 1992.

He is survived by his sister Helen Dubuc of Las Vegas, his brother Robert E. of Fountain Hills, AZ, the three sons of his late wife Dorothy, Michael, David and John Parker along with several nieces and nephews.

He was born in Worcester, raised in Grafton the son of the late Raymond and Helen (Donohue) Maynard. He was also predeceased by his brothers Richard E. and Raymond J. Maynard.

Gary was a graduate of Grafton High School and attended Worcester Junior College. He was a professional drummer, playing many bands. He also served in the U.S. Air Force for four years playing with the FLYTAF Band during his enlistment. Gary was also an excellent golfer playing for many years with his family and friends.

All are invited to a Graveside Committal Service for Gary Saturday Sept. 15 th at 10 a.m. in Pine Grove Cemetery on Waterville St. in North Grafton where his ashes will be laid to rest with his wife Dorothy. Arrangements are in the care of The Roney Funeral Home in North Grafton.

in lieu of flowers, the family suggests Gary be remembered with donations to The Parkinson’s Disease Foundation, 1359 Broadway, Suite 1509, New York NY 10018.
