HOLLAND/GRAFTON, Mass. - Helen M. (Charewicz) Kenney, 91, of Shore Drive, formerly of North Grafton, died on Saturday, Nov. 24, in her home after a brief illness.
She leaves three sons, Thomas A. Kenney and his wife Jacqueleen of Holland, Daniel W. Kenney and his wife Debbie of Wrightsville Beach, NC, and Lawrence C. Kenney and his wife Ellen of Worcester; a brother, Anthony Charwick and his wife Elly of Wilmington, DE; a sister-in-law, Beatrice Charewicz of Manchester, NH; 12 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by three brothers, Msgr. Zigmund Charewicz, Msgr. Joseph Charewicz, and Frank Charewicz.
She was born in Worcester on June 4, 1921, the daughter of the late Casimira (Nowicka) Charewicz. She lived in North Grafton for over 50 years before moving to Holland in 2004.
Helen was an accounting clerk for Wyman-Gordon in North Grafton for over 40 years, retiring many years ago. She was a long time member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Grafton and became a member of St. Hedwig Catholic Church in Southbridge and later St. Chrisopher Parish in Brimfield after moving to Holland. She was an avid bowler, enjoyed gardening and reading, and was a constant presence in the lives of her family.
Her funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, Nov. 29, at 11 a.m. at St. Hedwig Catholic Church, Everett St., Southbridge. Burial will follow in St. Hedwig Cemetery, Southbridge. There are no calling hours.
