Obituary: Rensforth W. Yeo, 88

NORTHBRIDGE, Mass. - Rensforth W. Yeo, 88, died at home on Wednesday, Sept. 26.

He is survived by his wife, Louise (Houghton) Yeo; eight children, Korte Yeo, of Boxboro, Barbara Yeo-Emde, of Wittenber, Germany; Deborah Yeo of Bellingham; Timothy Curley of Whitinsville; Jay Yeo of Las Vegas, NV; William Geoffrey Yeo, of Mission Viejo, CA; Jon Yeo of Worcester; and Donna Yeo Schwien, of Seal Beach, CA; two stepchildren, Robert Morin of South Grafton and Shirley Grilli of Whitinsville; 18 grandchildren, many great grandchildren, and a brother, John Yeo, of Fairfax, VA.

Mr. Yeo was born in Medfield, December 2, 1923, a son of William H. and Della (Terrill) Yeo. He grew up in Medfield, and lived most of his life in Whitinsville. He was a graduate of Medfield High School and Northeastern University. A U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, he served with the Seabees in the South Pacific.

Mr. Yeo was a financial planner at New England Financial in Worcester for more than 30 years prior to retiring in 1989. Previously, he worked in the international sales department at the former Whitin Machine Works.

He was a member of the Village Congregational Church in Whitinsville more than 50 years, serving as treasurer, and on numerous committees. He was a former scoutmaster of Boy Scout Troop 155. Mr. Yeo's interests included golf, movies, following Boston sports teams, coin collecting, his camp in Maine, and attending WW II Seabee reunions. Most importantly, he loved his family.

Mr. Yeo's funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, October 1, in the Village Congregational Church. Calling Hours will be from 2 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, Sept.30, in the Carr Funeral Home, 24 Hill Street, Whitinsville. Burial, in Pine Grove Cemetery, will be private.
