Obituary: Robert R. Chandler, 84

BELLINGHAM, Mass. – Robert R. Chandler, 84, a longtime resident of Bellingham, died Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2012 in Forge Hill Sr. Living Community, Franklin where he had been a resident for the past two years. He was the husband of the late Ruby B. (Graves) Chandler who died in 2002.

Mr. Chandler is survived by a son John W. Chandler of W. Paris, ME; three daughters Susan R. and her husband Rick Weatherbee of N. Grafton, Catherine L. and her husband Artie Ascoli of Highland Lakes, NJ, and Laura L. Hall of Dracut; a brother Richard Chandler of CT; two sisters Shirley Zacardi and Linda Mills both of FL, and four grandchildren Michael, Scott, Matthew, and Desiree.

He was born in Natick in 1928 the son of the late Perry and Edith (Sutherland) Chandler and had served in the U.S. Navy during WWII.

Mr. Chandler had worked for over 25 years at the Radio Frequency Co. in Millis. He was an avid sports fan and especially enjoyed the Patriots. He also liked Bingo and cribbage and was a former active member of the Bellingham Senior Center.

Funeral services will be Friday, Dec. 21, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. in the Buma-Sargeant Funeral Home, 42 Congress St., Milford. Burial, with military honors, will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Milford. There are no visiting hours.

Memorial donations may be made to the Bellingham Senior Center, 40 Blackstone St., Bellingham, MA 02019.
