SHREWSBURY, Mass. - Sophie "Zofia" R. (Nowosilecki) Yelski, 97, formerly of North Grafton and Shrewsbury, died on Sunday, Sept. 9, 2012 in her home. Her husband, Paul Peter Yelski died in 1974.
She is survived by her niece, Mary Ann Dumont and her husband Scott; nephew, Peter Lapriore and his wife Debbie, all of Shrewsbury; niece, Paula Lapriore Bulger and her husband Kevin of Worcester; niece-in-law, Theresa Lapriore of North Grafton; grand twin nephews, Christopher and Michael; grand nieces, Kelly, Lisa, Gina, Annamarie and Diana; great nephews, Jaxon and Abel. She was predeceased by two brothers, Joseph and Edward Nowosilecki; sisters, Helen Nowosilecki and Wanda Lapriore and her husband Frank, Sr. and a nephew, Frank Lapriore, Jr.
She was born in Worcester, a daughter of Peter and Jadwiga (Shulten) Nowosilecki.
Mrs. Yelski worked 48 years as a book keeper for Morgan Construction Company before retiring in 1983. She graduated from the former Commerce High School. Sophie was a member of Our Lady of Czestochowa Church and Morgan Construction Retirees Group. She enjoyed reading, music, traveling, crafts and bowling.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff of Shrewsbury Crossing, Excela Healthcare and Beacon Hospice for the kind and considerate care provided to their aunt.
The funeral will be held on Thursday, Sept. 13, 2012 from Henry-Dirsa Funeral Home, 33 Ward St., with a Mass at 11 a.m. in Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, 34 Ward St. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours in the funeral home will be Thursday, Sept. 13, 2012 from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.
