GRAFTON, Mass. - Susan E. (Johnston) Dumas, 67, died Oct. 12, 2012 from complications of heart disease.
She leaves her husband of 44 years, Philip E. Dumas; one daughter, Dawn M. Mayo and her husband Tom of Leyden; two sisters, Lois M. Bacys and her husband Vincent
of Worcester, Kathe J. Johnston of Barre; five grandchildren, Justin and A.J. Krawczyk, Jessica and Kasey Wozniak, Zachary Zastawny; one great grandson, Mason Krawczyk; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents Frederick and Ruth (Odgren) Johnston and a daughter Holly Dumas Zastawny.
Sue was born in Worcester August 24, 1945 and was a lifelong Grafton resident graduating from Grafton High School in 1963. Mrs. Dumas was a stenographer
for 27 years at State Mutual Life Assurance Co. in Worcester. She also worked several years for Attorney Adele Moroney in Grafton and then worked several years at Idexx Co. Sue was a lifelong active member of The North Grafton United Methodist Church serving as Sunday School superintendent, choir member, youth group advisor and as a Lay minister which she also did at many area Methodist churches. She deeply loved her family caring for them in many different ways. Sue also volunteered at The Nelson Memorial Library in North Grafton and for many Grafton elders assisting them with their needs. Some of her personal enjoyments included crossword and word find puzzles and reading.
Funeral services are Wednesday Oct. 17 at 11 am at The North Grafton United Methodist
Church, 10 Overlook St. North Grafton. She will then be laid to rest next to her daughter in Pine Grove Cemetery, North Grafton. All are invited to calling hours at The Roney Funeral Home, 152 Worcester St., North Grafton, Tuesday October 16 from 4 to 7 p.m.
