GRAFTON, Mass. – Providence Road has seen a lot of changes, from the construction of the new Grafton High School over the past two years – and there's not a better view of this than from the top of Grafton Fire Department's Tower One.

Firefighter Chris Blessing showed off the view from the top of Tower One Tuesday evening, about 70 feet in the air, during the Grafton Police Department's National Night Out. Taking center stage is the $73 million Grafton High School, which now straddles what used to be athletic fields for the former Grafton High (now Grafton Middle School).

We shot a photo from the same height and angle at National Night Out in 2009. A few noticeable differences:

  • The space around Grafton High School is empty in comparison, and the parking lot appears to be considerably smaller in the 2009 photo;
  • The tennis courts behind the school are now gone;
  • Super Park is now replaced by four tennis and two basketball courts;
  • The access road between Grafton High School and the Municipal Center is now gone.

See more photographs from the top of Tower One in our National Night Out gallery.
