GRAFTON, Mass. – Grafton Police, with assistance from the State Police Air Wing, are searching for a missing Grafton man who may be in the Upton State Forest.
Timothy R. Rick, 25, of 286 Upton St. has been missing since he was left by a friend at his home late Friday night, Grafton Police Chief Normand Crepeau Jr. said. Grafton Police and officers from the Environmental Police have been searching in the areas around George Hill Road and Keith Hill Road and in the Upton State Forest.
"He was dropped off Friday by a friend around 11," Crepeau said. "The person who dropped him off saw him jump the fence to go into his house, but his father said he never went inside."
Crepeau said the friend reported that Rick was not intoxicated and in good spirits. Rick was reportedly set to move into a dorm apartment at UMass Boston on Saturday but Grafton Police discovered the university has no record of his enrollment as a student.
"It's a bit of a twist, we're not sure what is happening there," Crepeau said.
Rick was known to ride the MBTA into Boston, the chief said. His vehicle remains at his house.
Police on ATVs have been conducting a search of the heavily wooded area near his home as well as the state forest, which Rick was known to frequent, and Silver Lake. Residents in the area reported seeing helicopters flying low over the power lines in the area on Wednesday and Thursday.
Rick is described as dark-haired, 5'10", 170-180 lbs.
If seen, contact the Grafton Police Department at 508-839-2858.
