GRAFTON, Mass. - A fiery two-car crash in front of MacKoul's Cars backed up traffic on Worcester Street Friday evening.

"There were a couple of bangs and then a big fireball," said Richard MacKoul, owner of the 220 Worcester St. used foreign car dealership. "It's a miracle it didn't do a lot of damage."

Both drivers managed to escape from their vehicles and neither required medical transport, Grafton Police said.

A steady stream of commuters on mobile phones, traveling past the accident from the Mass. Pike exit just down the road, called in the crash to Grafton Police at 5:45 p.m. Traffic was temporarily diverted up Deernolm Street and Brigham Hill Road.

The heat from the fire melted part of the roadway. Piles of foam drifted into the street and MacKoul's parking lot.

"I guess I'd better clean this up," MacKoul said.

The cause of the accident is under investigation by Grafton Police.

I live on that street.... that intersection is AWFUL!!! It could have been any number of factors.....

@graftonparent ... seriously? who's to say that's the only reason for car accidents, could have been either of the driver's fault.

Cause of crash under investigation......someone texting while driving perhaps???????

Than God noone was injured!
