GRAFTON, Mass. — The Grafton Planning Board will hold public hearings Monday on proposed changes to town bylaws on electronic signs, the South Grafton Village Mixed Use plan and changes to the Campus Overlay District.
The public hearing will start at 7:30 p.m. at the Municipal Center. All three bylaw changes will be on the warrant at the October Town Meeting.
The proposed changes include:
• A revision of the sign bylaw to allow changeable electronic message board signs, which are not included in the current bylaw. This marks the fourth time a bylaw change has been attempted; previous iterations were passed over at Town Meeting.
• A zoning change to allow mixed use development in the Fisherville and Farnumsville mill villages in South Grafton, allowing owners to use properties for two or more compatible land uses (residential, office, retail, recreational and light industrial) and instituting design guidelines for signage and lighting.
• A revision of the Campus Overlay District containing the Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine at Tufts University to allow alternative and renewable energy uses within the district.
