GRAFTON, Mass. – Grafton Middle School students are moving on up into the school once known as Grafton High School, and building tours have been planned to acclimate them before the first day of classes.
Parents can sign up to tour the building on Tuesday, Aug. 7; Wednesday, Aug. 8; and Thursday, Aug. 9. Tours are offered at 8 a.m. and 10 a.m. on Aug. 7 and at 8 a.m., 10 a.m., 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. on Aug. 8 and Aug. 9.
Two tours are available for each time slot, according to Assistant Principal Timonty Fauth. Both Fauth and Principal Kristen Gasper will be conducting the three-person tours, with a question-and-answer session in the auditorium at the end of each tour. Tours will last approximately 45 minutes.
Grafton High School will also be conducting tours of the new $73 million school and iPad tutorials for students that week, so parking at the schools' shared Providence Road campus will be limited. Parking for the middle school tours will be in the 12 spaces in front of the school, the student lot or behind the school.
Grafton Middle School will also have extended hours from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 23. Guided tours will not be offered, but families will be able to walk around the school and get a sense of its size and classroom locations.
The first day of school is Aug. 27.
Tour appointments may be made by emailing Fauth at FauthT@grafton.k12.ma.us or Cathy Paglieroni at PaglieroniC@grafton.k12.ma.us, or by calling Grafton Middle School at 508-839-5420.
