FALMOUTH, Mass. - Twenty-seven Grafton residents will be among a field of 11,000 runners Sunday in the 40th annual New Balance Falmouth Road Race, a seven-mile run along the shore from Woods Hole to Falmouth Heights.

Proceeds from the race each year support youth athletic programs in the town of Falmouth and other nonprofit community groups.
An estimated 75,000 spectators line the course each year to cheer on racers. Wheelchair racers start at 9:40 a.m. on Sunday, Aug. 12; runners take off at 10 a.m.
