The two brothers found dead in a Long Island basement on Wednesday, Aug. 12 were killed in a murder-suicide, police said Friday, Aug. 14.
Garfield Adamson, 50, of Hempstead, fatally shot his older brother, 52-year-old David Adamson, in the Hempstead home before turning the gun on himself, the Nassau County Police Department said.
Cops were called to the home at 16 Angevine Avenue around 10:20 a.m. Wednesday for reports of a shooting, authorities said.
