Construction Worker, Union Member Killed On Pennsylvania Jobsite
Union colleagues are passing the hat for Matthew Holloran, who died on a job site last Wednesday, May 8.
"Matt passed away while working on a construction site in West Philadelphia," wrote fellow Insulators Union member Maria Pfrommer on GoFundMe.
"This is a tragedy that hits too close to home, a stark reminder of the dangers our brothers and sisters face every day on construction sites nationwide and just how short life is."
Holloran, 49, of Glenmoore, is survived by a wife and three children, Pfrommer says. His father, brother, and uncle were also Local 14 members. …
PA Contractor, 73, Dies After Falling Through Roof In Bethlehem, Coroner Says
A Pennsylvania contractor was pronounced dead after falling through a roof in Bethlehem Sunday afternoon, authorities said.
Charles T. Irwin, 73, was working on a roof on the 1300 block of Spillman Drive when he fell through it and landed on the ground about 40 feet below, the Lehigh County Coroner’s Office said in a release.
Irwin, of Reynoldsville in Warsaw Township, was taken to St. Luke’s Hospital in Bethlehem, where he was pronounced dead, authorities said.

Construction Worker Warned Of Dangerous Conditions Day Before Deadly NJ Accident, Family Says
On Jan. 27, Drew Arntz told his family that the conditions at the Linden construction site he was working on were becoming too dangerous, according to his sister, Dawn Arntz.
The following day, he died when his machine fell into icy waters, leaving him trapped in a pocket of air for nearly an hour.
Drew, 55, of Allentown, PA, was being remembered by his sister as a "good man who loved life."

Worker From Northern Westchester Dies After Falling From Business Roof
A worker from Westchester died after falling off the roof of a Long Island business, police said.
The incident happened in Suffolk County on Monday, Jan. 18 at around 3:40 p.m.
Hector Aranda-Sanchez, age 27, of Peekskill, an employee of a Yonkers-based roofing company, was on the roof of Four Seasons Sunrooms and Windows, located at 5005 Veterans Memorial Highway in Holbrook, when he fell from the roof, police said.
Aranda-Sanchez was transported to Long Island Community Hospital in Patchogue, where he was pronounced dead.
