Inmates Dies At Hudson County Correctional: Prosecutor A 63-year-old Jersey City inmate died at Hudson County Correctional Center in Kearny on Friday, March 21, authorities said. At 12:15 p.m., the Hudson County Correctional Facility found Derrick Ellis unresponsive in his cell, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said. He was transported to Jersey City Medical center where he was soon pronounced dead, Suarez said. The New Jersey Office of the Attorney General was notified and the incident remains under investigation, Suarez said.

Piscataway Woman Charged In Fatal Hit, Run That Killed Mother Of Three: Prosecutor A 62-year-old Piscataway woman was arrested and charged on Thursday, March 20 for fatally hitting a pedestrian with her car last August and leaving the scene, authorities said. On Friday, Aug. 30, Plainfield police responded the the 400 block of East Front Street and found Jennifer Harris, 65, fatally struck by a vehicle, Union County Prosecutor William A. Daniel and Plainfield Police Director James Abney said. Harris was pronounced dead at the scene. 11 Kids Hurt After Tree Falls On Tewksbury School Bus: Whitehouse Rescue Squad Eleven people, 10 kids and a driver were taken to a hospital after a tree fell on a school bus in Tewksbury on Friday, March 21, authorities said. At 7:08 a.m., officers responded to Fairmont Road East and Addison Drive after a large tree fell on the front of the school bus, police said.  All 11 individuals on the bus were transported to Hunterdon Medical Center for evaluation, police said. Any injuries were minor, police said. Upon arrival at the hospital, school personnel were present to meet with parents and assist in the reunification process, police said.
