Paterson Man Used CT Victim's ID To Buy $47.9K Rolex Watch: Police A 55-year-old Paterson man used a Connecticut victim's information to buy himself a $47,905 Rolex watch in New York City, authorities said. Douglas Cantey has been wanted by police since May, when the victim told police he'd gotten a UPS delivery of an empty Rolex watch that he didn't purchase, the Darien Police Department said. The victim then found an unauthorized purchase of $47,905 in his bank statement, police said. Michael Patrick Gainor died on Wednesday, Oct. 5, according to his obituary. Gainor was born and raised in New Rochelle, and he also had ties to Westerly, Rhode Island, his obituary said. CT Animal Rescue Issues 'Emergency Plea' For All Dogs To Be Adopted Ahead Of Closure A Connecticut animal rescue nonprofit issued an urgent alert that all of its dogs need to be adopted within a month. Suffolk County Police To Auction Jewelry, Tools, Electronics Police on Long Island announced plans to hold a property auction next week. The Suffolk County Police Department said the auction will take place on Wednesday, Oct. 19, at the Property Section, located at 30 Yaphank Ave. in Yaphank. SCPD said the auction will begin at 9 a.m. and will include items such as jewelry, watches, tools, landscaping equipment, electronics, iPhones, and more. Fire Engulfs Massapequa Home, Smoke Damages 2 Neighboring Residences Multiple crews responded to a fire that destroyed a Long Island home and caused smoke damage to two neighboring homes. Duo Wanted For Stealing Credit Card From Woman In Deer Park Police asked the public for information about two people who are wanted for stealing a credit card from a 92-year-old woman on Long Island. The incident happened in the parking lot of 1261 Deer Park Ave. in Deer Park at about 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 9, Suffolk County Crime Stoppers reported on Wednesday, Oct. 5. Authorities said a man distracted the victim while a woman entered the victim's vehicle and stole a credit card.
