Tall Ships Set Sail for Newburgh After Stop In Bridgeport NEWBURGH, N.Y. – If you're a fan of history, the Newburgh Waterfront is the place to be on Friday, July 7 when two replica tall ships will offer guests a blast from the past.  Replicas of the Nina and Pinta, two of Christopher Columbus’ ships, will be docked at Riverfront Marina between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m.  The Nina was built completely by hand without the use of power tools. Archaeology magazine called the ship “the most historically correct Columbus replica ever built.” In 2005, the Pinta, also a caravel, was launched in Brazil. Suspect Passed Fake Money At Rite Aid In Monroe MONROE, Conn. – The Monroe Police Department is looking for help identifying a woman wanted for using counterfeit money.The woman, who has a large butterfly tattoo on her chest, used a fake $50 bill at the Rite Aid on Main Street on May 13. The suspect used another fake $50 bill on June 13 in Waterford, police said.  Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Chaves at 203-261-3622 extension 1307.

A female complained to police that a man on a bike, approximately 50 to 60 years old, circled around her several times before trying to grab her on July 1, 2014.
