Police Search For Trio Accused Of Stealing More Than $2K In Clothing From Deer Park Store Authorities asked the public for help identifying three people who are accused of stealing clothing from a Polo Ralph Lauren Factory Store on Long Island. Two women and one man stole clothing items valued at about $2,255 from the store, located at 152 The Arches Circle in Deer Park, on July 13, Suffolk County Crime Stoppers reported on Tuesday, Nov. 8. Suffolk County Crime Stoppers is offering a cash reward for information that leads to an arrest. Tips can be submitted by calling 1-800-220-TIPS.

Musician, Writer From Hudson Valley With Knack For Winning Scratch-Off Lotto Tickets Dies At 39 A longtime Hudson Valley resident who died at the age of 39 is being remembered as a talented writer and musician. Brian John Brogan, a lifelong resident of the Dutchess County area, died peacefully at home on Tuesday, Nov. 1, according to his obituary. Brogan was born in the Bronx and grew up in Poughkeepsie. Police Seek Women Accused Of Stealing Costumes From Stony Brook Spirit Halloween Authorities asked the public for help identifying two women who are accused of stealing costumes from Spirit Halloween on Long Island. Two women stole costumes from the Stony Brook store, located at 2110 Nesconset Highway, at about 9:30 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 28, Suffolk County Crime Stoppers reported on Monday, Nov. 7. Lane Closures Scheduled For Stretch Of Parkway In Hudson Valley Officials issued an alert about upcoming lane closures on a stretch of the Palisades Interstate Parkway. Single lane closures are planned in both directions of the parkway from the New Jersey State line in the Rockland County town of Orangetown to the Orange County line in Stony Point, according to the New York State Department of Transportation. The closures are set to take place from Tuesdays through Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. beginning Tuesday, Nov. 8, through Thursday, Nov. 17, to facilitate guide rail work, state officials said.

Driver Airlifted To Hospital After Crash On Sunrise Highway In Southampton A driver was airlifted to the hospital following a single-vehicle crash on Sunrise Highway. Troopers responded to a single-vehicle crash in Southampton between exits 64 and 65 on the eastbound highway shortly after 1:30 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 7, according to New York State Police. Police said the driver was taken to Stony Brook Hospital by Suffolk County Police aviation. Authorities did not share the age or place of residence of the driver. State Police asked witnesses of the crash to call 631-756-3300.

Shirley 18-Year-Old Indicted For Possession Of Gun Used In Shooting Outside Lee Zeldin's Home An 18-year-old man from Long Island was indicted on weapons charges after investigators found that he was in possession of a gun that was used in a shooting that injured two teenagers outside of Rep. Lee Zeldin's home. New TJ Maxx Opens At Woodbury Plaza Shopping Center A brand-new TJ Maxx has opened its doors at a Long Island shopping center. The store had its grand opening at the newly-renovated Woodbury Plaza shopping center on Sunday, Oct. 30, Breslin Realty announced. The 24,000-square-foot store, located at 401 South Oyster Bay Road in Plainview, replaced Bed Bath & Beyond as an anchor tenant. Renovations at the shopping center began in April 2021 and are nearing completion, Breslin Realty said.

Restaurant Chain Known For Southern-Style Comfort Food Coming To Levittown A fast-casual restaurant chain known for serving up Southern-style comfort food is set to open a new location on Long Island. Texas Chicken & Burgers signed a long-term lease for a 1,500 square-foot location at Levittown Mews Shopping Center, located on Hempstead Turnpike, Breslin Realty announced on Monday, Nov. 7. 'Blood Moon' On Election Day: Here's Timing For Last Total Lunar Eclipse For Next 3 Years You won't want to miss the upcoming eclipse because it will be the last chance to view a total lunar eclipse for three years.
