K9 Finds Cocaine, More During Wrong-Way CT DUI Stop: Police A Connecticut police dog discovered a stash of narcotics in the trunk of a car pulled over for an apparent DUI, authorities said. The New London County incident occurred on Wednesday, Dec. 27 in the city of Norwich, according to Connecticut State Police. It was around 2:15 a.m. when officers, who were driving on Laurel Avenue, noticed a car coming towards them, driving into the opposite lane. Burglar Swipes Pocketbook, More From Long Island Home Police are searching for a Long Island burglar who took bags full of items from an occupied home. The burglary happened on Tuesday, Dec. 26 in Syosset. According to Nassau County Police, the burglars broke into a Church Street home at around 3 a.m. through the front window. The person took a backpack and pocketbook, both of which were filled with miscellaneous items, and fled the scene on foot in an unknown direction. A description of the burglar was not available. Left For Dead: Long Island Hit-Run Driver Nabbed A Long Island driver who hit a man and drove away, leaving him on the street, has been arrested, police said. The incident occurred on Tuesday, Dec. 26 in Uniondale. According to Nassau County Police, 68-year-old Robert Hauswald was driving his gray 2001 Mercury when, just before 7:30 p.m., he struck a man near the intersection of Front Street and Maple Avenue. Alert Issued For Missing Long Island Woman Police are asking for the community’s assistance in locating a Long Island woman who went missing after last being seen in Brooklyn, New York. Doreen L. Paled, age 38, was last seen in Flatbush, Brooklyn on Friday, Dec. 22, according to Nassau County Police. Man Nabbed For Christmas Eve Stabbing On Long Island: Police A Long Island man has been arrested after he stabbed another person multiple times, police said. On Sunday, Dec. 24 at approximately 9:30 p.m., 59-year-old Jose Anibal Moreno Rodriguez got into a verbal fight with a 25-year-old in New Cassel, Nassau County Police announced.
