Burglar Swipes Pocketbook, More From Long Island Home Police are searching for a Long Island burglar who took bags full of items from an occupied home. The burglary happened on Tuesday, Dec. 26 in Syosset. According to Nassau County Police, the burglars broke into a Church Street home at around 3 a.m. through the front window. The person took a backpack and pocketbook, both of which were filled with miscellaneous items, and fled the scene on foot in an unknown direction. A description of the burglar was not available.
