Yorktown Heights Man Wins $5M In NY Lotto Christmas came early for this lucky New York Lottery winner. Northern Westchester County resident William Ciringione, of of Yorktown Heights, won big when he claimed his scratch-off prize, lottery officials announced on Thursday, Dec. 21. The massive $5 million prize, which he won on the Cash X100 scratch-off game, was sold at the 7-Eleven, located at 1949 Commerce St. in Yorktown Heights. Lane, Bridge Closures Suspended Across NY For Holiday Travels: Hochul In an attempt to ease the congestion that comes along with holiday travel, Gov. Kathy Hochul has decided to suspend all closures statewide over two weekends. From Friday, Dec. 22 through Thursday, Dec. 26; and again from Friday, Dec. 29 through Tuesday, Jan. 2, all temporary lane and bridge closures will be lifted across New York State, Hochul announced. The two sets of closures will start and end at 6 a.m. on their respective dates. Man Scams 9/11 Victim, Widow On Long Island: Police A Queens man has been arrested after he allegedly conned two women out of over $150,000, including one Long Islander who was awarded money as part of the 9/11 Victim Fund, police said. Richard Yasnis, age 42, was arrested on Wednesday, Dec. 20 for his alleged Locust Valley crimes, according to Nassau County Police. Man Struck, Killed By Pickup Truck During Rush Hour On Hudson Valley Roadway Police are investigating a rush-hour crash on a busy Hudson Valley roadway that killed one man. The Rockland County incident happened on Wednesday, Dec. 20 in the town of Ramapo. At approximately 5:30 p.m., a 52-year-old man was walking north in the southbound lanes on Route 59 in the village of Hillburn, Ramapo Police said. Fatal Crash On Southern State Parkway: Long Island Man Veers Across Lanes, Hits Poles A Long Island man is dead after an early-morning crash on the Southern State Parkway, police said. It happened on Wednesday, Dec. 10 in the town of Hempstead. State Police said that shortly after 5:30 a.m., 62-year-old North Babylon resident Joseph G. Mayer was driving his white 2006 Lexus in the leftmost lane, heading westbound on the Southern State Parkway.
