Police Seek Information After Stolen ATM Found Emptied Of Cash In Bridgeport Police are investigating after a stolen ATM was found emptied of cash in Fairfield County. Connecticut Department of Transportation crew members located an ATM in Bridgeport on the morning of Monday, Sept. 26, on Route 8, and called police, Connecticut State Police reported. Troopers determined that the ATM had been stolen out of New Haven, police said. "Of course, the machine was empty of cash, but that makes cents, right?" State Police said in the announcement. Authorities asked anyone who witnessed the disposal of the ATM to call State Police at 203-696-2500.

4 Long Island Public Schools Rank In Top 10 Statewide, New Report Says Four Long Island schools were listed among the top 10 public high schools in New York in a newly-released ranking. Niche, a website that creates ratings and reviews of schools and colleges across the United States, shared its ranking of the "2023 Best public high schools in New York." Businessman From Westchester Who Made Mark In Real Estate, Autos, Insurance Dies A Connecticut resident who grew up in Westchester County and worked in insurance, automobiles, and real estate over the course of his career has died at the age of 78. Fairfield County resident Kurt Hothorn Jr., of Greenwich, died at Greenwich Hospital on Friday, Sept. 23, according to his obituary. He was born in New York City and raised in Scarsdale, his obituary said. Hothorn graduated from Concordia Prep, and he went on to study at Valparaiso University in Indiana. Police Search For Duo Accused Of Stealing Items From Unlocked Vehicle, Entering Jericho Home Police are searching for two suspects who stole a key fob and documents from an unlocked vehicle and then used the key to enter a Long Island home. The burglary happened in Jericho at 5:50 a.m. on Sunday, Sept. 25, according to the Nassau County Police Department. NCPD said a suspect entered an unlocked vehicle in the driveway of a residence on Forest Drive and took a garage door key fob, valued at $200, and miscellaneous documents. Officials Announce Upcoming Taconic State Parkway Ramp Closure State officials announced an upcoming ramp closure on the Taconic State Parkway. The ramp from the southbound parkway in Dutchess County to Exit 37A (I-84 eastbound) in East Fishkill will close on Wednesday, Sept. 28, between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m., the New York State Department of Transportation announced. Officials said the ramp will be closed to accommodate guide rail repairs. "Motorists should follow the posted detour utilizing Exit 35 (Miller Hill Road) to the Taconic State Parkway northbound to Exit 37A (Interstate 84 eastbound) as an alternate," the department said.

19-Year-Old Killed After Car Crashes Off Hudson Valley Roadway Into Pond, Police Say A 19-year-old woman died after the car she was driving went off a Hudson Valley roadway and into a pond. The crash happened in the Ulster County town of Gardiner at about 8:30 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 23, New York State Police said. Investigators found that Hailee Witherel was driving a Nissan Sentra north on Sand Hill Road when the car left the roadway and entered a small pond, police said.
