The man, who was aboard a homemade aircraft, lost control after takeoff, according to News 12. Mummified Body In Trailer Identified As Homeless Middletown Man MIDDLETOWN, N.Y.  – Middletown Police have identified the mummified remains that were found in a trailer off of Dolsen Avenue in May, according to the Times Herald-Record.  Officials used DNA to positively identify the body as Stephen E. Skok, 73, of Middletown. Police say Skok was dead in the trailer for months before being found. Violent Crimes In Newburgh Becoming Less Common NEWBURGH, N.Y. – Violent crimes in the City of Newburgh is on pace to be far less common in 2017 than in previous years, according to the Times Herald-Record.  Violent crimes like aggravated assaults, murders, rapes and robberies have dipped 13.7 percent through the end of June versus 2016. Orange County SPCA Seeks Donations To Help With Hurricane Harvey Dogs ORANGE COUNTY, N.Y. – Twelve dogs that were ushered out of the Houston-area in advance of Hurricane Harvey will arrive in Orange County on Tuesday and the Hudson Valley SPCA needs your help to care for them.  The SPCA is looking for blankets and bedding, Purina dry dog food and monetary donations to the medical fund.  These dogs were not lost in the storm. Three Orange County School Districts Among NY's Top 150 In Recent Rankings ORANGE COUNTY, N.Y. – Three Orange County schools were ranked among the top 150 in New York by education website Niche.  Cornwall Central Schools were rated the highest in the County, coming in at No. 77 overall for the state, Niche said.  Schools were evaluated based on academics, teachers, clubs and activities, college readiness and health and safety and diversity. Orange County's Early Autumn Weather Preview Continues ORANGE COUNTY, N.Y. – The sunny skies and cooler temperatures that made for a picture perfect weekend in Orange County are expected to stick around through most of the workweek, according to the National Weather Service.  Mostly sunny skies will remain throughout Monday with highs only getting into the mid-70s.  Tuesday will feature a few more clouds that could bring an isolated shower in the afternoon and into the evening. Chance of rain is 30 percent.  Sunshine will return on Wednesday and remain through Friday, but temperatures will remain below normal for this time of year.
