An (almost) lifelong Westchester resident, Sam has reported on all facets of Westchester since he graduated from Ryerson University with a degree in print journalism, including stints at North County News and The Examiner. A film columnist for WAG Magazine, Sam's moviegoing expertise has been profiled in the New York Times and he was a featured guest on VH1's Big Morning Buzz Live.

‘This Is Us’ Star Signing Books In North Jersey: Here’s Where, When Chrissy Metz, who played Kate on the hit TV show “This is Us,” is opening up about the power of prayer. Metz is signing copies of her new children’s book “When I Talk to God, I Talk About Feelings” at Books and Greetings in Northvale on Tuesday, April 8 at 6 p.m. The picture book is about how faith and prayer can help people handle their emotions, using animals as an example, according to a synopsis. Two Killed In Camden Shooting: Prosecutor Two people were killed in a double homicide on Camden on Saturday, March 29, authorities said. At 10:54 p.m., Camden County police responded to a ShotSpotter activation at the 600 block of Elm Street and found Francisco Benavides, a 21-year-old Pennsauken resident, with gunshot wounds, Camden County Prosecutor Grace MacAulay and Camden County Police Chief Gabriel Rodriguez said. Bayonne Man Who Fatally Stabbed Wife Learns Fate: Hudson County Prosecutor A 35-year-old Bayonne man was sentenced to 20 years in prison on Friday, March 28 for fatally stabbing his wife in 2022, authorities said. Peter Revelo had previously pleaded guilty to aggravated manslaughter in the death of Mely Vanessa Tafoya Mendoza, a 33-year-old Bayonne resident, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said. On Wednesday, March 2, 2022, Bayonne police responded to 105 North St. and found Mendoza with a stab wound to her torso, Suarez said. She was pronounced dead at the scene, Suarez said.

Woman Critical After Newark Stabbing, Man Arrested: Police A woman is in critical condition after being stabbed in Newark on Saturday, March 29, authorities said. At 9:42 p.m., police responded to Vailsburg Terrace and Linden Avenue and found a woman stabbed by a man she knows, Newark Public Safety Director Emanuel Miranda said. The woman was taken to a nearby hospital, while the man was arrested at the scene, Miranda said.
