Man Made Nazi Salute, Attempted To Rip Down Pride Flag At Donut Shop: Matawan Police A 61-year-old Holmdel man was arrested and charged on Saturday, March 29, after he attempted to rip down a pride flag from Main Street Donuts, later returning to make a Nazi salute, authorities said. At 11:45 a.m., officers responded to the donut shop at 141 Main St. and learned a man, later identified as Maciej Wojciak, with a t-shirt tied around his head as a mask, attempted to remove a Pride flag from in front of the business, damaging the metal bracket, Matawan police said. Man Fatally Shot While Driving in Mount Laurel: Prosecutor A man was fatally shot while driving on Route 73 in Mount Laurel on Sunday, March 30, authorities said. The man, whose name is being withheld, was discovered bleeding in the 1000 block of Atrium Way at 2:30 a.m., Burlington County Prosecutor LaChia Bradshaw and Mount Laurel Township Police Department Chief Timothy Hudnall said. Drunk Driver Arrested After Car Overturns: Lopatcong Police A 35-year-old Hackettstown woman was arrested and charged driving while intoxicated following a crash in Lopatcong on Monday, March 24, police said. At 11:36 p.m., police responded to 1236 Belvidere Rd. and found a vehicle overturned, Lopatcong police said. The driver, Rosemary Studwell, was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence, police said. Former Fire Chief Killed In Route 46 Motorcycle Crash: Njsp A 44-year-old former fire chief of the Oxford Fire Department has been identified as the motorcyclist killed in a crash on US Route 46, officials said. Bookkeeper Stole From Pompton Plains Catholic Church: Morris County Prosecutor A 60-year-old Haskell resident was arrested and charged with taking money from two Roman Catholic parishes where she worked as bookkeeper, authorities said. Edison Man Hid ISIS Ties During Naturalization Process: Feds A 44-year-old Edison man was recently indicted by a federal grand jury after falsely claiming he had never been associated with ISIS on his citizenship application, authorities said. Shots Fired In Phillipsburg, One Arrested: Police An investigation is underway after shots were fired in Phillipsburg on the early morning of Friday, March 28, authorities said. At 5:45 a.m., officers responded to Spruce Alley and Jersey Street and found evidence of gunshots, Phillipsburg police said. One person was arrested, police said. Pedestrian Fatally Struck By Vehicle In Nutley: Prosecutor A 77-year-old man was fatally struck by a vehicle in Nutley on the evening of Thursday, March 27, authorities said. At 6:30 p.m., Nutley police responded to Franklin Avenue and Chestnut Street and found Lee Gilbert hit by a car, the Essex County Prosecutor's Office said. Gilbert was transported to University Hospital where he was pronounced dead soon after, authorities said. The driver remained on the scene, authorities said.
